These are amendments to SOLAS Chapter II-2 Construction: Fire Protection, Fire Detection and Fire Extinction (Resolution MSC.291(87)) and the International Code for Fire Safety Systems - 'the FSS Code' (Resolution MSC.292(87)).While SOLAS Chapter II-2 can be traced back to its creation in the 1974 SOLAS Convention, the FSS Code is a later addition. It was produced at the same time as SOLAS Chapter II-2 received a major revision and took effect on 1 July 2002.
