LSA manufacturer CM Hammar has issued a safety alert concerning inflatable lifejackets equipped with its hydrostatic inflator that were manufactured before 2006. The inflator is attached to the life-jacket with a sealing ring that CM Hammar upgraded in 2006.Sales and marketing director Jan Calvert told SASI that the alert had been issued, "because we've had some reports of rings [made before 2006] that have degraded, and the investigations we've done with our chemical supplier show that a combination of a high temperature and humidity might start the degradation of the ring".
