Violence in Gulf places spotlight on Iran

The saying "what goes round, comes around", applies to many situations in the history, and it can be applied to the maritime security situation in the Gulf. Although in the past the focus has been on piracy at the mouth of the Gulf and out into the Arabian Sea, on the coast of Somalia, and the Bab al-Mandab strait, concerns are now shifting back towards the Gulf. The pendulum of concerns over maritime security has decisively swung back towards the coast of the Yemen and the emerging threat from Iran.
