Moreover, it was decided to adjust the requirements in the national tunnel standard and to allow a maximum instantaneous average air velocity of 12 m/s (through the doors) and 5 m/s (in the gallery). The subjective results of the test also played a role in this decision to compensate for the missing objective information, due to the limitations of the test previously mentioned. As a by-product, the test also underlined the importance of the requirement that the force needed to open the emergency exit door is not to exceed 100 N. This is important for the design of the sliding doors and the pressurisation control system.
