In the business of transporting people (by air) or parcels, there are many service providers (airlines and shipping companies such as DHL, UPC or Fedex). Each of these service providers currently has its own communication channel with their customers. At sites where multiple service providers operate closely together, for example on an airport, these independent communication lines are a source of inefficiency and cost. Not only must the physical infrastructure be available to support all those independent channels, but each time there is an interaction between the customer and the service provider, using that physical infrastructure, the correct service provider must be selected, manually or automatically.
