Utilizing existing technology used in manufacturing and machine controls presents new options that will help to reduce packaging size, and present new possibilities for functional actuation in tighter design environments, In the flfSt phase of this development, the use of flexible drive lines (2) for HVAC outlet control, is helping to remove current direct actuation on these outlets and allowing designers to place the actuators into an adequate packaging environment.This further frees up space for more aggressive styling in the instrument panel and center consoles where electrical HVAC controls are requested.
