摘要

This invention describes a turbine-connect P2 configuration for application in a continuously variable transmission. It utilizes an off-axis motor that drives the turbine shaft 1 via a chain, belt, or gear. Chain sprocket 2 is connected to turbine shaft right adjacent to transmission oil pump sprocket 3. To reduce chain tension on turbine shaft, chain sprocket is running on a bearing 4 anchored in transmission housing. An auxiliary electric pump is needed during engine off and electric vehicle operation. Transmission bell housing 5 and pump cover 6 are redesigned to facilitate apply torque converter oil 7 to be routed through the sprocket. It also embody an engine disconnect one-way clutch that is integrated into torque converter, not shown here.
