The idea concerns a sorting conveyor with carriages guided along a conveyor track, each carriage carrying a double support tray with a first support tray part for receiving a first object and a second tray part for receiving a second object. The first tray part can be mirror symmetrical to the second tray part with respect to a vertical longitudinal centre plane of the carriage. The first delivery movement can be mirror-symmetrical to the second delivery movement with respect to a vertical longitudinal centre plane of the carriage. It is possible that the first tray part is firmly connected to the second tray part and that both forms are rigid. The double tray can have a vertical, central partition wall, especially in the longitudinal direction.
