Low cross-talk photon counting module for luminescence reader of multi-well-plates The present disclosuregenerallyrelatestothe field of in vitro diagnostics For the detection of bio- or chemi-luminescence in multi-well-piates(MWP) it isthe key to maximize the collection efficiency of photons from the well of interest and at the same time to minimize the collection of photons originating from neighboring wells, thereby minimizing the well-to-well cross talk. The typical solution isto move the photon counting sensor as close as possible to the well of interest. The reduction of crosstalk is of special interest when using sensors with very high dynamic range and low dark count rates. Compact photon counting modules with an upper detection limit of 5e6 1/sat dark count rated below 20 1/sare commercially available. For these modules the cross talk has to be suppressed sufficiently to ensure that low and normally detectable signal levels are not dominated by Raisson noise of photons originating from neighboring wells.
