This research disclosure describes the usage of a compound X according to WO 2018002100 as a solubilizing surfactant. X is according to Formula (I): wherein R1 is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon chain having seven or nine carbon atoms, or a mixture thereof. Solubilizing surfactants have the ability to create emulsion partides so small that light passes through them and the solutions remain dear. Solubilizing surfactants are used to incorporate lipophilic materials like essential oils and perfume oils, plant extracts, vitamin E or other lipophilic, not readily soluble ingredients into clear aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic cosmetic systems. Solubilizing agents are used in all kinds of water-based systems like micellar waters, shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps, cleansers, body mists, hair gels, toners, lubricating gels, or hand sanitizers.
