Sandiego — Wireless industry representatives Sept. 12 disagreed over how far carriers and other providers should go to safeguard consumers' privacy on the wireless Internet. Speakers during an Internet privacy session at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association's (CTIA's) Wireless I.T. & Internet 2001 trade show in San Diego, Calif., debated about how much personal information carriers should collect from consumers, as well as the ground rules for sharing that data with third parties.
