PDAs Grant Physicians New Prescription Services

Pharmaceutical companies and health care intermediaries (e.g., insurance providers) are accelerating their efforts to make the personal digital assistant (PDA) as common as a stethoscope or prescription pad in a physician's white lab coat. Glaxo Wellcome USA, Inc.; Aventis Corp.; Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMS); Merck, Inc.; and Eli Lilly and Co. are among the dozens of drug manufacturers that have created relationships with at least one of the PDA health care ventures, such as ePhysician, Inc., or ePocrates, Inc.
