Strategies, current status, problems of energy and perspectives of Yemen's renewable energy solutions

A majority of the Republic of Yemen population does not have access to electric power service. Although that Yemen has good sources in the field of energy in general and electricity particularity. The share of renewable energy in energy mix does not exist in the Republic of Yemen. In this paper we review the Potentials, the strategies of conventional electricity generation and the main problems in Yemen energy in the late five years. This paper documents the potentials of renewable energy (solar, wind and geothermal) as one of the most important alternatives for solutions most of the power problems in Yemen. The barriers and challenges facing the implementation of renewable energy investment projects in Yemen has been clarified.
