The gutter guard on our house seems to be causing trouble and providing no benefit. Should we just remove it? In 2007 we had a new house built, and the whole roof drains to a tank. Each downpipe incorporates a leaf and debris diverter. These have to be cleaned out every few months-but this can be done relatively easily from a step ladder at ground level.
