Historical Dictionary of the Hong Kong SAR and the Macao SAR

As with other volumes in this series, this dictionary of the Hong Kong SAR and the Macao SAR includes maps, photographs, a useful list of acronyms, a chronology, an introductory essay, a comprehensive bibliography and hundreds of cross-referenced short entries on important persons, places and events as well as the political, economic and social background of these two ex colonial territories. The dictionary is divided into two sections, the first dealing with the Hong Kong SAR and the second with Macao. This new version supersedes a previous 1992 title that was compiled by three different authors: Elfed Vaughan Roberts, Sum Ngai Ling and Peter Bradshaw. The old version was number ten in the series and might well be worth hanging on to since so much has happened in Hong Kong and Macao since 1992.1 have no doubt that the update will have omitted much of the material in the older version, though unfortunately I could not get hold of a copy to check.
