The American Museum of Photography is a free "virtual museum" founded and organized by William "Bill" Becker, a photography historian. The museum included 5,000 individual images and focuses on photographs from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, although there is at least one collection that includes digital images.rnThe web site is divided into three sections: Exhibits, Research Center, and Guided Tour. There are 15 current exhibits. Some of these showcase the work of individual photographers (Matthew Brady; Scott Mutter), while others are organized by subject matter (Pulp Photography; Masterworks of Photography), and include works by many different photographers working in different decades.
