With over 1,000 pages of recipes across five volumes this is an extensive set of cookery books covering, with some exceptions (these are not noted), almost all of the nation-states in existence at the time that the research for this book was carried out. In all there are recipes from 198 different places, mostly nation states and a few nationalities without states.rnAimed specifically at students, particularly American ones, the purpose of the World Cookbook is to provide an objective introduction to contemporary food, methods of eating and typicalrncookery techniques from across the globe. Unfortunately, because the authors felt that it would be helpful to their intended audience, they have avoided recipes were it was expected ingredients would be difficult to source in the US -this is seemingly despite the ubiquitous and ever prevalent internet which can usually be relied upon to source products such as unusual ingredients.
