摘要

This work provides an in-depth and academic review of both ancient and modern China. There isrnwide coverage of this vast country including its geography, its provinces, and its history, society, the state, politics and law. Also covered are external relations with individual countries, agriculture, industry, trade, transport, education, science, religions, literature, the arts and Chinese languages. The contributors are all experts in their chosen fields. There are some Chinese but many are academics from German or other European universities because this work originally appeared as Das Grosse China-Lexikon in 2008. The work has since been translated into English and published in the Netherlands in 2009.
