Climate Change is included in the Contemporary World Issues series of the ABC-Clio introductions to particular topics. It follows the now familiar layout of some broad overview chapters and then a series of study aids.rnThe first chapter covers background and history. It starts with the global climate system, the carbon cycle and the energy balance system which are the systems that affect climate change. How humans have and can influence these systems is discussed and the importance of the problem is laid out. The chapter then looks at how the problem was recognised and how it entered politics and policy. The next chapter covers problems controversies and solutions. It starts with a discussion of the scientific arguments for and against climate change, and more specifically anthropogenic causes.
