A founder of the US settlement house movement (upon which the group work method is based) and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931 Jane Addams, stated that "social advance depends as much upon the process through which it is secured as upon the result itself". This encyclopedia is a work that deals with that process; the process of social work with groups, its development, values and methods.
