There are two characteristics of a reference book that I look for; is it usable and is it useful. This book wins on both counts. As I expect publishers read our reviews of competing publications I want to start this review by looking at the way the book is laid out, which is what makes it usable. There are four volumes, with the volume number, page range and alphabetical range on the spine. The text starts with a full alphabetical list of entries.
