Monty Python: A Chronology, 1969-2012 (2nd edition)

"As early as the late twentieth century, or indeed as late as the early twentieth century", a British comedy troupe unveiled the first sketches of what would become an enduring legacy in creative performance. In Monty Python: A Chronology, 1969-2012 second edition, Douglas McCall chronicles the works of Monty Python, individual career ventures, and personal milestones of its founding members. McCall reminds us in his introductory notes, that the first edition of his chronology was published in 1991, the same year the troupe both celebrated its twentieth anniversary and mourned the death of troupe-mate Graham Chapman. It felt, to McCall and largely to British entertainment enthusiasts, like the end of an era. Unlike "that famous Norwegian Blue parrot", however, "Python wasn't quite dead yet" (p. 1). This second edition encompasses the original work, expanding on its original entries and adding 23 years of continuing achievements.
