Wetlands (5th edition)

The fifth edition of the classic text, Wetlands, has undergone some significant revisions. Brought back by overwhelming demand are the chapters on ecosystems. These were removed from the previous edition and published as a separate book, Wetland Ecosystems (2009) to reduce the size of the text, which was growing unwieldly for students to carry to class. However, the ecosystem coverage was particularly valuable because of its holistic approach. In the current work, these previously omitted chapters are reinserted in Part Ⅲ. Each ecosystem - tidal marshes, mangrove swamps, freshwater marshes, freshwater swamps and riparian ecosystems and peatlands - covers geographic range, hydrogeomorphology, soil and salinity, vegetation, wildlife uses and ecosystem function.
