Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Authors, Editors and Publishers (8th edition)

This review of the eighth edition of the Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Authors, Editors and Publishers (SSF8) published by the University of Chicago Press focuses on the 722-page print edition. Since the previous seventh edition (2006), many of the updates in this eighth edition follow current electronic and online trends, such as online images, information graphics, social networking sites, updated language (email instead of e-mail) and e-books (Preface, Dust Cover). The Preface outlines all of the changes made in each chapter from the previous edition. This updated edition marks a major shift from previous citation styles as it now does citation-sequence in-text reference style as opposed to the previous citation-name in-text reference.
