I've been bitten! Not by the model flying bug, that happened decades ago. No, for the first time in my life I've had a wrap over the knuckles (fingers, actually) from an aero engine, and it wasn't nice!rnNow, I have to say I'm pretty careful when it comes to starting and operating engines, indeed my models are always secured at the tail, I rarely hand start anything larger than a .40 four-stroke, and I religiously make all tuning adjustments from the rear of the aeroplane. Moreover, for visibility I paint propeller tips white or yellow and, given that I've seen so many props part company with engines over the years, it makes me positively cringe to see people standing in front of, or directly in line with, a propeller that's being run up.
