DFR's New Accommodation Coach

THE DEAN Forest Railway took delivery of a new volunteer accommodation coach on February 8, in the shape of Mk 1 charter support vehicle 2834. Originally BCK 21267, it was converted in 1988 as part of the Intercity charter fleet, becoming a staff couchette. Most recently in Riviera Trains ownership, it was moved to Cranmore last year to receive bodywork repairs, a full rewire, installation of a new shower and a roof repaint. Work still to be carried out by society volunteers includes internal cleaning and repairs, which will be followed by a repaint into BR maroon.
