Main line charter debut for 50008 Thunderer

THE FIRST main line passenger run for 50008 Thunderer in more than 27 years is set for July 27 when the loco, owned by Garcia Hanson, is pencilled in to work a Derby to Carlisle trip. The train, operated by DB Cargo and using Riviera Trains' stock, is expected to start at Derby at about 0730 and run via Alfreton before picking up at Sheffield and Leeds. It will then continue via York, the ECML and the Tyne Valley line via Hexham. A break of around three hours has been requested for Carlisle.
