French win Argentina and Morocco high-speed deals

French company Alstom has been awarded the contract to build a 180-mile high-speed line from Buenos Aires to Rosario. French banks are lending almost all the £650m required for the project. Construction is to begin this year and should be complete by 2011. The existing line from there to Cordoba will also be renovated to complete the upgrade of this crucial corridor.
