EMT examines bridge-bashed 158

East Midlands Trains are evaluating the damage caused to 158856 when it hit a bridge at Barrow-on-Soar on February I. The unit suffered damage to one cab when it collided with the structure while working the 0613 Nottingham-Norwich.The bridge had been brought down after being struck by a road lorry. The driver had to be cut free by firemen but is now out of hospital and is making a good recovery. Neither the guard nor any of the six passengers were injured.The Rail Accident Investigation Branch is investigating.
