NRM appeals for 1968 memories

The National Railway Museum is appealing for memories of BR in 1968 to help its forthcoming exhibition '1968 and all that'. The exhibition, which runs from May 24-June I, aims to place the massive changes on Britain's railways at the time in context with the huge social, economic, and political changes at the time. The centrepiece of the event -at least, as far as steam traction is concerned - will be 70013 Oliver Cromwell, which hauled part of the '15 Guinea Special', which brought down the curtain on main line steam operation in Britain.
