An appeal for funds has been launched by the group hoping to fully restore a 1903 petrol electric railcar.rnThe NER 1903 Electric Autocar Trust needs to raise £25,000 within six months to pay for planning work, engineering drawings and preparation of specifications. An engineering assessment will also provide a full breakdown of costs for the mechanical and electrical elements of the restoration, firm quotes for the necessary materials and outline a timescale and critical path.rnHeritage Lottery Fund Stage One pass and the trust now has until December 2010 to submit detailed proposals and raise its share of the costs.
