Your observations and comments regarding the general performance of DB Schenker's charter management are spot-on (RI June, First Thoughts).rnFor a long time, now, it seems there has been little leadership of the charter and special trains business. I believe that the people at the 'sharp-end' still do an admirable job under very trying circumstances - but something is sadly lacking elsewhere in DBS.rnWith regard to the debacle of the Scottish weekend tour and 37406, it was a fiasco waiting to happen, and predicted by many. This loco should never have been dispatched from Eastleigh after almost two years out of service with a set of serious faults.
