Some of the many new EMUs awaiting approval in Germany finally entered service in March. Safety case approval for the FLIRT EMUs operated by BLB in early March for services between Salzburg and Berchtesgaden resulted in almost immediate removal of the stand-in loco hauled trains and DMUs that had been providing a temporary service.rnIn mid-March Eurobahn services between Hamm and Monchengladbach were taken over by the fleet of five-car FLIRTs enabling replacement of the Classrn185-hauled stand in trains.
