With the expiry date for the current 10 year boiler certificate of 6201 Princess Elizabeth in 2012 rapidly approaching, the Princess Elizabeth Society (PES) has welcomed Steve Underhill to its ranks to take on the role of Engineering Manager. The move is intended to support the current structure that is under the leadership of Society Engineer John Graham.rnSociety spokesman Keith Wood said: "Like many of our counterparts in the main line steam movement we are under no illusions that the task of a 10 year overhaul beginning in 2012rnwill be a demanding one, and key decisions will have to be made nearer the time. However, we have taken great heart from the progress we have made since the boiler certificate was extended in 2009 and think that to build on that now will put us in the best possible position to approach our retirement from the mainline."
