Work continues to be carried out on LNER 'A3' 4472 Flying Scotsman at Riley & Sons Engineering Ltd in Bury under the careful management of the National Railway Museum project team. Following the discovery of cracks in the locomotive's horn blocks (Rl Sep), remedial work is taking place to ensure the restoration is completed to the highest quality. The rest of the locomotive has also been carefully investigated to ensure there are no other areas of concern. National Railway Museum press officer Emma Rodgers said: "At this stage there are no confirmed dates for Flying Scotsman's completion, steam tests, display at the National Railway Museum or first passenger journeys.
