DBS goes large

July 23 saw DB Schenker run its first European loading gauge freight along the High Speed 1 route, the only line in the UK that can accommodate the large wagons used throughout mainland Europe with its more generous loading gauge. Two wagons from Spanish logistics operator Transfesa, part of DBS, and four European-sized swapbodies were included in the train from Dollands Moor to a rail terminal in East London in a fault free operation.
