This a reprint of the Ian Allan combined volume abc spotters guide from 1956/57, which itself back in the day was a combination of the different abc books from the different regions of BR. This is a useful book for the history angle, as it lists all locos in the BR fleet at the time, which of course was predominantly steam, but those diesel locos (shunters and test locos) and the first diesel and electric multiple units accepted into traffic are also listed.
