This is a massive 528-page A4 hardback book crammed full of information, the title of which is pretty much self explanitary. Hugh Longworth has provided the shed allocation for the entire British Railways steam loco fleet at seven key years - starting with nationalisation in 1948 and then every three years after that; 1951, 1954, 1957, 1960, 1963 and 1966. There are pictograms to show the allocation spread of the locos - which are listed by their BR numbers - across the country for the key years.
