1. Churnet Valley Railway Class 104 DMBS 50455 has been lifted so that a number of jobs could be carried out on the bogies. These have included fitting replacement brake cylinders, rebushing parts of the brakes and cleaning. The opportunity has also been taken to work on the air system, which is on the underside of the coach and not normally accessible. The work took three weeks to complete. 2. Unique 1954 Derby Lightweight power car 79018 has been repainted at the Midland Railway, Butterley. The coach has been parked outside since its lottery funded restoration five years ago and consequently the paintwork had deteriorated. It has yet to run in service and is mechanically incomplete.
