The Midland Class 20 Association's 20048 has been requested as a guest loco for the East Lancashire Railway's July 1-3 diesel gala. Also requested from the Midland Railway Butterley are Class 33 D6586 and Class 46 D182. With the planned engineering work along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway complete, passenger services returned in March and it wasn't too long before both Class 24 D5061 and Class 25 D7628 were in action. On March 12/13 they top-and-tailed trains whilst on the 26th D7628 reached Whitby on a passenger train for the first time this year, with the 0900 from Pickering. The train had been worked by D5061 as far as Grosmont, where the 25 took over.
