New British loco moves to Liberia, but 08s are doomed

In early 2009 Winchester Marine acquired the six ex-BAOR large Andrew Barclay 0-6-ODH locomotives - AB663-668, that been offered for disposal by the MoD and these had been taken for storage to the former Binbrook Airfield in Lincolnshire. During September 2009 one, AB667, was sold for further use and exported, but no details were forthcoming as to the loco's final destination. Since then, during August 2010, the remaining five locos were moved the short distance from Binbrook to a new site at the former airfield at Manby - five miles to the east of Louth.We had no details of AB667, but in a chance conversation with a colleague a few months ago, I learned that this locomotive had actually been exported to Liberia.
