UK Railtours heads to Caldon Low

UK Railtours has added another train to its popular 'Forgotten Tracks' programme which cover freight-only lines, and the 'Moorland and City' also has the option of a trip along the revived line to Caldon Low.The 'Moorland and City' on April 2 starts at Stevenage and heads for the King's Cross incline to then join the WCML to Stoke where the train stables for four hours. Road coaches will take passengers to the nearby Churnet Valley Railway to enjoy a ride on a DMU shuttle firstly to Oakamoor Sidings (a part of the CVR not normally used by passenger trains) and then a top- and-tailed trip via Cheddleton and Leek Brook Junction to Caldon Low.
