Class 101 goes original

Original pattern marker lights have been refitted to class 101 DMC 50170 which is being refurbished prior to moving to the Severn Valley Railway.The Midland Railway-based unit now has four marker lights fitted on the end and has also lost radio fitments obtained during a period of service in East Anglia, it has also been re-liveried in British Railways green. The vehicle was part of set 101692, the only one to be painted in dark blue Strathclyde PTE colours, and had been active with its partner 50253 in that livery since preservation in 2004.It is destined to work as a spare vehicle at the SVR while members of their own fleet are refurbished.
