NR sells 'bubble cars'

Network Rail has sold four first-generation single car DMUs to Chiltern Trains, most of which are to be scrapped following spares recovery - but one of which may be destined for preservation. The four, Class 121s 977866 (960013), formerly 55030; 977723(960021), formerly 55021; 977858 (960010), formerly 55024 and Class 122 975042 (960015), formerly 55019 are all currently at Aylesbury. 55021/030 are to be stripped for spares but 55019/024 are set to move to Tyseley where some electrical equipment will be removed for reuse on other vehicles. At least one of these is then due to move on to an as-yet undisclosed heritage railway for preservation.
