Discussions over the future of the West Somerset Railway's lease and ownership have been put on hold to "give time for reflection by the WSR family" says the railway. It follows a turbulent period, sparked when the volunteer West Somerset Railway Association (WSRA) decided to make a hostile bid to buy the land and track from owner Somerset County Council (SCC), directly competing with the West Somerset Railway PLC which currently holds the lease and operates the mainly volunteer-run line.
