DRS 57 assists FGW but fails

One of 57310's first jobs after emerging in its new DRS colours was to assist First Great Western when 57603 Tintangel Castle failec while working August 6's 1C99, the 2350 Paddington-Penzance 'Night Riviera' 'sleeper' at Whitehall. 57603 suffered a split high pressure oil pipe causing the engine to shut down. It was rescued by an HST set to Exeter where the passengers were transferred to the HST for the journey to Penzance and the loco-hauled set terminated.
