Class 27 returns to Brechin

Class 27 D5370 has returned home to the Caledonian Railway after being on hire to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for the past three years. During its stay in Cumbria, the loco lost its BR blue livery as 27024 in favour of original green and its pre-TOPS number. The locomotive was taken back north on July 30, arriving at Brechin the following day, and was in service on the Saturday working the railway's Saturday diesel timetable. Class 26 D5301 should be making the move in the opposite direction back to its usual home at the LHR but there was the chance to run three BRCW SulzerType 3s together with D5301, resident D5314 and D5370. The railway is also home to 26035 and fellow Sulzer Type 2s; 25072/083, these latter three locos all being out of traffic pending major overhauls.
