One of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's (NYMR) most colourful characters and a founding member Charlie Hart, has died at the age of 91. Charlie, who was a signalman and inspector with British Railways when the route was closed in the 1960s, became one of the key people in the NYMR's earliest days. He remained an active volunteer, most recently selling guidebooks, and was also heavily involved in fundraising.
