Class 70s start work with Colas

Colas Rail has started to use its Class 70s on driver training. 70801 ran light from Eastleigh to Westbury on February 17, the same date the paperwork was cleared to allow 70803-805 to be released from the docks at Liverpool and they moved to Eastleigh three days later. They should then move to Westbury, Cardiff and Ipswich for crew training. 70802 was due to dock in the UK in February followed by two more in April and the final two in May. 70806-810 are the final locos to be shipped. 70801 is formerly 70099, the Turkish-built demonstrator loco that was moved to the UK in 2013. The new locos have been bought to meet increased work on Network Rail NDS trains.
