SWT crews train on 456s

Staff training is taking place at South West Trains on the two-car Class 456 EMUs, following their transfer from Southern and prior to their introduction into service from the next timetable change. The 24-strong Class is to be used to extend existing Class 455 units to allow 10-car trains to be operated on some routes in the peak. Currently half the fleet is at Wolverton where they are being refurbished but the other sets, now in unbranded Southern colours, are at Wimbledon Park depot where it is anticipated they will be used in service as they are, prior to delivery of the refurbished sets.
